We loved the cabin! It has all the charm of a 1928 log cabin with all the modern comforts and totally renovated!! Immaculate and the personal bathrobes were a great touch. It’s perfect for 2 people. We loved the covered porch and hot-tub to relax each morning with coffee and cocktails every afternoon! The parking is very tricky. There’s a gravel road to reach the cabin and you have to pull in parallel to the cabin. We weren’t sure how to get back down the road and went up the road to turn around but it scratched the rear bumper of our Mercedes because of the gravel and steep incline. We learned a few days after we should’ve just backed all the way down. A bit challenging but much better option. You may need a SUV four wheel drive vehicle during the snow season. If you enjoy adventurous hiking, there are several great spots. Chimney Rock, Florence Nature Preserves and Lake Lure provides relaxation around the small beach with lake access. It’s about 15 miles to the Biltmore and 18 miles to The Grove Park Inn. Both a must see in Asheville. There are about 3 miles of slow, curving roads but the rest of the trip is easy. (About 25 minutes). It is about 30 minutes to Hendersonville with a lovely historic downtown featuring unique shops, restaurants and some live music. Chimney Rock has a few old time restaurants and a great Wine Tasting Bistro, Burntshirt, with beautiful views of Chimney Rock. Chimney Rock and Lake Lure are 7-8.5 miles from the Cabin and easy to get there. The owner is lovely and very helpful. If you enjoy being away from hustle and bustle of a bigger city, hiking, reading and relaxing on the porch, with some sightseeing, this is a perfect choice.
